Primary (Local) Review Judges use a points system to judge artworks at the 2 locations of “Japan” and “Overseas”, and the total earned points determine the ranking.
* Anyone living in a country other than Japan will automatically apply and be judged as an “Overseas” entrant.

Artworks are judged based on the 2 categories, “Open Category” and “Student Category”.
When applying for the “Student Category”, the applicant needs to be 35 years of age or younger.
A total of 180 artworks will be selected for the final review, of which 80 works will be from "Japan" and 100 works will be from “Other Countries”.
In cases where one entrant has entered more than one artwork, the work that has received the highest number of points will be selected for the final review.
Final Review A panel of judges composed of both Japanese and overseas judges will use the points system to judge artworks, and the total earned points will determine the ranking.

Prize winners will be selected from both the Open and Student Categories based on having received the highest total number of points from the judges.
Honorable mentions will be awarded to all artworks which participated in the final review and were not selected as a prize winner.
*All prize-winning artworks’ points and ranking will be announced. However, this does not include the jury and committee’s special awards.
